In Memoriam and Recognition of two fallen members of South Side Steppers ATL (SSS) who were instrumental and essential to the development of not only SSS but whose influences spread far and wide and are forever embedded within the Line Dance Community, SSS has created two distinguished scholastic awards to be granted to students matriculating in an accredited institution of higher learning. These awards are:

1) Walter Sykes Public Service Award
2) Marvin “Too Smooth” Byars Burning the Wood Award

Each award will be granted in July and announced during the bi-annual SSS Anniversary Celebration.
